Information for Professionals

Signpost works holistically with individuals who are Deaf or hearing impaired and who have additional complex needs. The team at Signpost have extensive training in both Deaf awareness and Deaf culture.
A robust training programme ensures that the Signpost team are supported to further their knowledge and expertise of the needs of Deaf young people. Members of staff are supported to keep abreast of emerging good practice and new technologies. The provision of Art therapy has proved particularly beneficial for some young people who are placed at Signpost.
The Signpost team have been invited to deliver presentations at various conferences regarding the organisation's expertise and success including a conference held by the European Society for Mental Health and Deafness.
We appreciate that Professionals working with young people will want to be assured of the specialist and quality services that Signpost provides and professionals considering a placement at Signpost are welcome to arrange a visit to see the homes and meet the staff team.
The team at Signpost has a good relationship with National Deaf CAMHS as well as with other professionals and agencies. Contact details for professionals can be provided upon request so that these individuals can be contacted for an up to date reference on our services.
Signpost is registered with a range of commissioning consortia such as CCRAG, SEWIC, London Care Placements, The West Midlands Placement Database and the Peninsula LA's. The organisation is also registered on a number of individual Local Authority commissioning lists and has a number of framework contracts in place.
Signpost homes have been rated as outstanding by OFSTED and the organisation has been awarded ISO 9001 certification. Please see 'Achievements' for a list of the outcomes that are delivered.
