Information for Children

Some of the things you may have experienced in the past may have been difficult for you and you may feel frustrated, alone, sad or angry.

When you come to Signpost you will be welcomed by a friendly, happy staff team. They are here to look after you and help you take control and make positive decisions about your life. We want to help you to do your best at school and to form good relationships with your family, friends, teachers and other people who are important to you.When you arrive you will get your welcome pack so you can decorate your own room. This means you choose your own curtains, posters, bedding etc. 

Young people at Signpost get involved in many different activites. Some of the activites include: swimming, surfing, camping, bowling, horse riding, cinema, football and go-karting.  We know how important technology is to young people and you will be able to access the internet in the home with support from staff.

At Signpost we have a small farm and we look after pigs, chickens, ducks, geese and sometimes turkeys. We also grow our own vegetables. All staff and young people take responsibility for looking after the animals and the environment.

We would like you to have fun and enjoy yourself during your time at Signpost. Some of the things you will be asked to do may be quite challenging but they will help you become more confident and responsible. This will help you to make good decisions in life and help you achieve the things you would like in the future.

Most importantly.. We want you to treat others as you would like to be treated. By respecting others and being responsible for your actions, you will get the most out of your time at Signpost.
